For Jewish men
Masculinity and Jewish identity
There is no single Jewish experience of being a man, and this is not a piece that will tell you what yours should be. But some themes come up often enough with the Jewish men I work with that they are worth naming: the weight of expectation, whether spoken or not; the pull between tradition and the life you have actually built; the sense of representing something larger than yourself; and the particular difficulty, in a culture that can prize strength and achievement, of admitting you are struggling.
If any of that is familiar, it is worth talking about with someone who does not need it explained from scratch. You can read more about therapy for Jewish men, online across Ontario, or book a free 15-minute call.
